Your smile makes all the difference in the world - to you, to those who care about you, and to us! Your smile is the focus of your face, second only to your eyes. It's as personal as a signature, as unique as the individual wearing it. It is a mirror of your self image. And it plays a major role in your business and social relationships. The practice of Dr. Mcdermott in Ashbourne provides you with amazing cosmetic services that will change your life.

Whitening – is the most common and popular cosmetic procedure in the world. It is often the only treatment that is required to achieve a new, brighter healthier smile.

Porcelain Veneers -
are the Ulitmate Smile Enhancement Tool. They will strengthen, straigten and beautify your teeth. For the perfect smile, veneers are very often the answer. Newer, Durathin veneers or even lumineers may even allow individuals to achieve their desired smile without having to file down or adjust the existing natural teeth.

For the best long term cosmetic smile results that resist staining whilst preserving and strengthening natural teeth, veneers are often the optimal treatment.

Durathin and Lumineer Veneers – Conventional veneers often require the removal of a small amount of tooth to accommodate the thickness of the veneer. Lumineers and now the most recent Durathin Veneers can be a fraction of a millimetre in thickness and so no enamel need be removed and in some circumstances, no injections or drilling is required to achieve the beautiful smile.

Direct freehand composite veneers – (cosmetic bonding) utilises the latest cosmetic tooth coloured filling materials to fix chips, cracks and spaces so that you can have a great smile. In certain situations these can be used as an alternative to porcelain veneers to achieve the perfect smile.

Invisable braces –  Invisalign or "invisible braces" can give you the beautiful straight teeth you've always wanted. more info

Laser gum recontouring – is a predictable method utilised routinely in cosmetic dentistry to achieve the ideal gum levels which play as important a role in smile design as the teeth themselves. The laser allows predictable results with reduced or no discomfort and no additional visits.

Implants – Tooth loss can affect your dental health and personal appearance. When you lose one or more teeth, your remaining teeth can drift out of position. more info

Metal free Crowns and bridges – are the latest alternative to the older metal/porcelain crowns without sacrificing any of the strength. These newer all ceramic / porcelain restorations offer all the increased benefits of a more natural appearance without the old dark metal showing through the gums.

Crowns – are ‘caps’ that cover teeth which have been weakened by large fillings or cavities, offering long term stability and the confidence to eat and bite as normal.

Bridges – replace missing teeth by linking a series of porcelain crowns (caps) together which are then in turn cemented to the teeth either side of the missing tooth / teeth.

Tooth coloured fillings – offer all the strength and durability of the older amalgam silver fillings, yet offering a natural result every time. In certain circumstances, laboratory fabricated porcelain fillings are the preferred choice for large fillings as they preserve and strengthen your back teeth whilst avoiding or postponing more costly crowns.

Smile design – is vital to achieving the results that you desire before any treatments are performed. Your dentist should be able to communicate what they perceive to be the most desirable outcome, however we believe that knowing what you like or dislike about your own smile or even the smiles of celebrities can be used to plan and design the smile that you desire. A temporary mock up, or even digital imaging can then be used to help you visualise what effect a new smile can have to your overall appearance.
